You’re right. It’s like all rules you usually end up having to at least bend a few to get exactly what you need. But, I thought your list was a really good starting point. Especially since a lot of people don’t even have a clue when it comes to design.

It also takes a bit of experimenting as well, especially when you are creating a unique design. So if you are trying to create a design and it doesn’t adhere to the principles right away, just keep working at it. And sometimes you can break the guidelines if you know how in order to create an interesting design, but don’t go and break every single one or you will lose the effect.
